Johannesburg, June 27 — Veteran South African batsman Faf du Plessis, who has been an integral part of the Chennai Super Kings since the indian Premier League’s inception, said the environment in the Chennai-based franchise’s dressing room is very calm.
“There is a confidence in the CSK locker room that someone will pull it through for us, and at every opportunity, it’s someone different. Guys share the load in winning games, it’s a confidence thing in doing it over and over again,” du Plessis told former Zimbabwe pacer Pommie Mbangwa during an Instagram Live session.
“With Chennai, my experience was that of a quiet dressing room. “There are a lot of cricketers thinking in the dressing room,” he added.
The Yellow Brigade was one of the most successful IPL franchises in the tournament’s history. They were able to lift the trophy three times in 2010, 2011 and 2018. They are the only IPL team to qualify for the playoff stage in each edition of their appearance in the league. In addition, they also won the T20 Champions League tournament in 2010 and 2014.
The team led by MS Dhoni was considering its fourth IPL title in this year’s edition, which is currently indefinitely postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
