Bhubaneswar, June 25 — Given the increase in the Covid-19 case, the Berhampur Municipal Company in Ganjam District will remain closed for four days from June 27, district collector Vijay Amruta Kuluta Kuluta Kulange announced Thursday.
He said the shutdown was ordered to facilitate active search and surveillance amid rising coronavirus cases.
No less than 70 medical teams have been trained for detailed screening in the city.
Unless medical stores and milk delivery, no other activity is allowed, Kulange said.
Out of a total of 5,962 positive cases in Odisha, Ganjam district, the highest recorded the highest number of 1,088 positive cases and eight deaths to date.
Meanwhile, officials from the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) made surprise visits to 10 private hospitals in the capital on Thursday to verify their adherence to the COVID-19 guidelines.
With the increase in the number of infections among health workers, the Ministry of Health has formulated guidelines for all private hospitals as a measure for infection prevention and control practice.
He advised all hospitals to follow the management advice of health care workers working in the Covid-19 and not Covid-19 areas of the hospital.
